“All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.”

Isaiah 54:13

At Horizons Unlimited Christian Academy, our Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is designed to prepare children for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Our primary goal is foster independence and develop a good self-image. The wide variety of activities and materials nourish self-confidence, concentration, cooperation, and respect for others. Here's a glimpse of what our Pre-Kindergarten curriculum includes:

Literacy

We focus on developing children's reading, writing, and communication skills. We use a variety of teaching methods, including interactive read-alouds, small group instruction, and hands-on activities that engage children in learning and help them develop a love for reading.

Science

We encourage children's natural curiosity about the world around them by providing opportunities for exploration and investigation. We explore topics such as weather, plants, animals, and the environment through hands-on experiments, observations, and investigations.

Mathematics

We provide children with opportunities to explore mathematical concepts such as counting, number sense, measurement, and geometry. We use hands-on activities and games to help children develop a strong foundation in mathematics.

Christian Education

We integrate Christian values and lessons into our curriculum to help children develop a strong foundation in faith and character. We teach Bible stories, songs, and prayers, and encourage children to apply Christian values in their daily lives.

Social Studies

We help children develop an understanding of their place in the world and the communities they are a part of. We explore topics such as family, community helpers, geography, and history through hands-on activities, stories, and discussions.

Did you know that children in Pre-Kindergarten have a remarkable capacity for creativity and imagination?

Research has shown that children at this age are highly imaginative and can come up with new and original ideas that can be nurtured through play-based learning activities. This creativity and imagination can be harnessed to help children develop problem-solving skills and think critically about the world around them. In addition, children in Pre-Kindergarten have a natural enthusiasm for learning and are eager to explore new ideas and concepts. By providing opportunities for hands-on exploration and discovery, Pre-Kindergarten programs can help children develop a love for learning that can last a lifetime.
